Zugibe Vineyards was established in June of 2005 with an initial planting of 9 vinifera grape varietals, encompassing a total of 23 acres. In May of 2007 an additional 17 acres were planted mostly with Riesling, along with Cabernet Franc, Lemberger, and the Austrian varietal Gruner Veltliner.
