Vinismo:Wine prices

From Vinismo

Wine prices are always approximate in Vinismo. You shouldn't expect to find the same exact prices at your local wine store. They are only given as rough indications, not as guaranteed prices.

edit Adding new prices on a wine page

Up to six different prices can be listed in wine pages, each associated with a different country.

Price information is part of the "Quick facts" sidebar displayed in every wine page. It is coded with special tags, so that it can be used as a criteria when searching for wines. This makes wine prices harder to edit, but it is for the greater good!

Follow these steps to add new prices on a wine page:

  1. Click on the link "Edit Sidebar" on top of the sidebar.
  2. Place your cursor at the end of the "quickbar" tag, just before the pair of closing rounded brackets (}}).
  3. You will now insert two new lines of code, each starting with a vertical bar (|).
    1. The first line indicates the price you paid for this wine; its format is |priceN=XX, where N is the number for that price listing (1 if no other price is listed, 2 if one price is already listed, etc. up to 6) and XX is the price (don't type any currency symbol; they will be inserted automatically).
    2. The second line indicates the country where you got this wine at that price; its format is |pricecountryN=XX where N is the same number you gave on the first line and XX is the country code. Available country codes in the English Vinismo are US, CA, UK, AU, NZ, ZA and IN.
  4. Comment and save your edit.

Example: Let's say you find a wine page in Vinismo where the listed US price is $20, and you found the same wine in the UK for £7 (lucky you!). You want to add this UK price as a second price listing. In this case, you should add these two lines of code inside the "Quickbar" tag:

|price2=7
|pricecountry2=UK

If you want to add a third price for this wine, like for example $15 in New Zealand, then you should add these two lines:

|price3=15
|pricecountry3=NZ

All this seems a little complex, but it's actually quite simple once you get used to it. If you have ANY question that this article didn't answer, feel free to ask it to a Vinismo admin or to other Vinismo users in the Wine Bar.
