Vinismo:Ways to promote Vinismo
From Vinismo
The more people who read and contribute to Vinismo, the better it becomes, and the closer we get to our main goal of making a free, complete, up-to-date and reliable guide of all wines in the world. There are a number of ways to promote Vinismo; the following are some that you can help with.
- Word of mouth. Tell friends and colleagues about Vinismo -- especially those who are interested in wine. Make sure to give them the correct URL -- http://vinismo.com -- and let them know that their contributions are welcome, even if they're not wine experts.
- Recruit for specific jobs. It is often easier for people to get into Vinismo if they think in terms of specific work on specific articles. Do you know someone who speaks a language that could help us listing the wines of a foreign country? Or someone who's been visiting wine regions that are not well covered in Vinismo?
- Link to Vinismo. If you have a Weblog, personal website about wines, or what have you, mention Vinismo and link to our Wine Guide.
- Link from Wikipedia. Wine regions, appellations or producers listed in Wikipedia should also be linked in to their Vinismo guides.
- Make good content. The better our wine guide is, the more people will come back to it, and talk about it, and recommend it to their friends. Any time you spend making Vinismo a better site will help generate more traffic -- hence attracting more users who'll help making it an even better site.
- Make popular content. Watch for topics that people want to know about -- lists of top wines in newspapers and magazines, wine regions in the news, etc. Make sure we have good articles in Vinismo about those popular topics.
- Suggest URL to blogs and other websites. If you regularly read a website that's concerned with wine, wine reviews, or Wikis and Open Content, send them an email (or use whatever feedback mechanism is available) to suggest the URL for Vinismo.
- Write articles about Vinismo. If you write for a magazine, a newsletter, or a Web site, try submitting an article about Vinismo to that publication. Try to make the article interesting and cogent to the publication in question. You might want to discuss Vinismo as a good example of a Wiki initiative, for example, or maybe you'd rather take the angle of peer support for wine lovers.
- Add Vinismo articles to bookmark-sharing Web sites. If you use Jots, reddit, del.icio.us, Shadows, simpy, StumbleUpon, or another bookmark-sharing Web site, add your favorite Vinismo articles.
- Review Vinismo for Web review sites. This will give others a good idea of your enthusiasm for Vinismo.
