Vinismo is written by its readers -- Internet users like you -- and we need your help! Try our getting started guide to learn how.
Forms can be used in Vinismo to help users start new pages in a quick and easy way.
Forms can automatically create all the relevant sections in a page, add the necessary tags and templates, create the associated sidebar, and even compose the title from field entries. The only thing users have to worry about is writing content. Forms take care of the rest.
Once new pages are created with forms, they can only be edited through traditional wiki-editing. Forms are just used to start articles, not modify them.
Two forms are currently active in Vinismo:
- Special:Form/Wine (to create a new wine page)
- Special:Form/Winery (to create a new winery page)
These forms are "wizards" for creating new wine and winery pages. They are highly visible on top of the Home page, to incitate visitors to start articles without fear of Wiki-code.
However, forms can be used for a variety of other uses. Feel free to propose your ideas in this article's Talk page or in the Wine Bar. To get some help on form creation, ask one of our administrators.
Forms are just an alternative to the traditional Wiki article-starting process. Any user is free to start a new page from scratch without any form or template.
Our forms are based on an extension we created for all MediaWiki sites. It is currently in alpha status.
