Van der Vijver Estate prides itself on old European traditions when it comes to wine making and the enjoyment of life. Everything needs to go just a little bit slower and with some extra care.

The public is welcome to share the experience and taste the Barrel aged wines. And maybe tell a story or two to Pa, Kate or Robert (the crazy winemaker in his Yellow wooden shoes)

The bottom line is the Van der Vijver Family welcomes you to their winery for a little wine tasting. People are encouraged to bring along a picnic and take in the surrounding views.

A very rary wine. A true Amador Zinfandel

• 2002 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Aged in oak barrels for four years, fermented with a yeast strain isolated from Bordeaux, this wine is smooth and velvety with surprising fruit.

• 1999 "Maylin" Vintage Tawny Port

This Vintage wine is the result of combining old techniques with high quality fruit and Brandy. A wine to celebrate the Birth of "Maylin" and life with friends and family. No corners were cut and this heavenly wine was left ripen on small oak casks for over eight years.
