Santenay is a communal AOC appellation of Côte de Beaune, Burgundy.

Located at the southern tip of Côte de Beaune, Santenay vineyards lay on strikingly atypical soils. Every parcel of vineyard is radically different, due to a complex system of geological faults.

Nowhere else in Côte de Beaune can two parcels give two wines of such different tastes, aromas and colors, regardless of their orientation or altitude. The most interesting Santenays are the deep premier crus, mostly to the East of the village, along the road to Chassagne-Montrachet.
