The Buttitta family has been growing premium wine grapes in California since 1953. Nick operated the family ranch in Sonoma County from 1974-1984, growing and selling grapes to Sebastiani, Souvereign, Korbel and Seghesio, among others. Nick and family moved to Lake County in 1991 and began planting small lots of Italian Varietals in 1994. Rosa d'Oro Vineyards became a licensed winery in 2001 and opened a tasting room in downtown Kelseyville in 2005. Rosa d'Oro Vineyards produces traditional Italian style wines including Aglianico, Barbera, Dolcetto, Muscat Canelli, Primitivo and Sangiovese. Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Varietal Wine Vinegars are also available at the tasting room.
