France : Alsace and East : Crémant d'Alsace
Crémant d'Alsace is an official AOC appellation of Alsace, France.
This status is given to sparkling Alsace wines made according to the traditional method of bottle-fermentation (as used in Champagne). They are made mainly from Pinot Blanc, and sometimes Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Riesling and Chardonnay.
These delicate, lively wines should be served with appetizers and/or dessert, at a maximum temperature of 5 to 7°C.
