Asti is an official DOCG appellation of Piedmont, Italy. It is best known for the sweet sparkling wine Asti (earlier known as Asti Spumante, but these days usually shortened to Asti for marketing reasons). The other subdenomination of the DOCG is Moscato d'Asti, a lightly sparkling dessert wine.

Both the sparkling Asti and Moscato d'Asti are sweet with grapey aromas.
