Apulia (Italian: Puglia) is a wine-producing region of Italy.

Californians displaced to Europe will find Vino Pugliese to be the closest in temperament of any Old World wines to the California wines to which they are accustomed. The nearly North African climate combines with a constant influx of salt air from the nearly surrounding Mediterranean sea. Of note is the sometimes spectacular, but varied Salice Salentino appellation.
