This medium-bodied, flavourful wine is a good value white. As with most Austrian Rieslings, it shows strong minerality for a clean taste and enjoyable food complement. The 2006 vintage won American Wine & Spirit's "Best Buy" rating at 88 points, and there's little doubt that this vintage will also be a good bet.
edit Tasting
The wine shows clear, golden-green colour, and its clean flavours show the influence of its slatey soil. The wine has peach and floral fruits, lime and other citrus flavours. There is a hint of sweetness, offset by the wine's crisp acidity.
edit Serving
Serve at 11C. This wine is a strong contender against hearty fish like salmon, trout, or tuna, but would also work with shellfish.
edit Production
The Riesling grapes on the Höpler estate are planted in slate, which is reflected in the wine's flavour.
